The University of Leicester is thrilled to announce that it is now offering up to four Sanctuary Scholarships to those wishing to study at the university. The scholarships are for asylum seekers and individuals with Discretionary or Limited Leave to Remain following a UK asylum application. As part of Leicester University’s ongoing commitment to being a welcoming place and a University of Sanctuary, four scholarships are being made available; two undergraduate awards, one taught masters award and one PhD award. The university hopes that the scholarships with ‘help reduce the barriers to participation in higher education faced by those seeking asylum in the UK’. Each scholarship consists of tuition fee waiver, contribution to living costs and tailored personal support.
