We are delighted to announce the first annual University of Sanctuary national conference will take place at York St John University on September 4th.
Academics, professional staff, students, sanctuary scholars and many others will gather to explore how Higher Education Institutions can do more to build a practice and a culture of welcome for people seeking sanctuary in the UK. There are currently 10 recognised Universities of Sanctuary in the UK with many more working towards recognition. At the conference we will hear from leading practitioners from these and other HEIs and explore ways to work more closely as a sector to improve our own practices and to campaign for a more hospitable environment in the UK.
